Went in there yesterday. The knowledgeable guy in the shop confirmed my choice and quoted me £319. OK its a lot of money but included delivery and installation which was handy as I couldn't have taken it with me that day.
Gets home and have a look on Amazon. Same unit £246.90 including delivery. Now I knew it would be cheaper on Amazon but was prepared to pay and extra tenner or even twenty to the local shop but not £71 so somewhat regrettably I've ordered it from Amazon.
I actually parted with less than two hundred quid as I had £50 in Amazon vouchers from O2 when I sorted my iPhone contract. Thats another interesting story. I got my iPhone 3GS on an O2 contract 2 years ago. It was £34 a month for my calling plan. It got to within a week of the contract finishing and hadn't heard from them. Looked on their site and couldn't work out what the procedure was and called them. Oh it just continues unless you want a new contract they says. "What happens with a new contract" says me.
Ends up that I have could keep the existing iPhone 3GS on a SIM only contract with roughly the same call plan for £17/month. However, they had an offer that week with a £2/month discount and £50 of Amazon vouchers for renewing with them.
It was a b****y good job I made that call :-))
